Happy Women’s Day

Today is March 8, the Women’s Day. International Women’s Day (IWD) is known as “international working women’s Day”, ”March 8 day” and “March 8 women’s Day” in China. It is a festival set up on March 8 every year to celebrate Women’s important contributions and great achievements in economic, political and social fields.

In different areas, the focus of celebration is different, from ordinary celebration of respect, appreciation and love for women to celebration of women’s achievements in economic, political and social fields. Since the festival was a political event initiated by socialist feminists at the beginning, it has been integrated with the culture of many countries, mainly in socialist countries.

International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries all over the world. On this day, the achievements of women are recognized, regardless of their nationality, language, culture, economic status and political position. Since its establishment, Women’s day has opened up a new world for women in developed countries and developing countries. The growing international women’s movement has been strengthened through the four UN global conferences on women. The commemoration of International Women’s day has become a rallying order for women’s rights and their participation in political and economic affairs.

Every March 8 International Women’s day comes, women’s organizations and women’s rights activists in various countries make great efforts to promote women’s rights into the important agenda of national, regional and international human rights fields, and prompt international or national gender blind spots on women’s issues. They encourage and organize women to share their personal experiences, discuss pornographic culture, nurseries, sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence (such as wife beating and child abuse), urge some important government websites to reflects the investigation and report documents of women’s living and working conditions, and formulate relevant policies.

In China, on the eve of the international women’s day on March 8, the China Women’s Federation launched “national March 8 red flag pacesetter”, “national March 8 red flag collective” and other selection activities to commend the achievements of Chinese women. The selection criteria include:

1.They are with correct thinking and energetic; 2.They make technological innovation and revolution in industrial and agricultural production, in collective welfare and social services, and in all aspects of socialist construction, so as to continuously improve labor productivity and work efficiency; 3, They strive to improve their cultural level and study and study science.4, They are good at uniting the masses and giving play to the spirit of communist cooperation. Those who meet the above conditions or one of them and make outstanding achievements in completing the production or work plan can be called the National Women’s advanced producers, advanced workers or advanced collective factories.
